Snow Day

Yesterday Tessa had her 2 month doctor appointment. She is doing wonderful and growing like we knew she was. She's up over 13lb and 23inches long already! It is great to see her thrive! She's also done really good this week at her new daycare since I have returned to work. She's getting more of a personality every day as she is so smily and happy for us the majority of the time! Here she is sitting in her bumbo seat last night.

So, don't ask me what got into me, but I decided last night would be a good night to let Gabe and Kendra put makeup on me that Kendra had gotten from Ma-maw and Grandpa Wilke for Christmas. I hadn't let Kendra play with it yet because I knew it was going to be a mess and she's never gotten any lessons on how to play with these types of items without ruining things like carpet or walls or anything else for that matter...thus the need for me to join in this activity. Anyhow, I felt a picture of the finished product was necessary even though this counts as self-humiliation...don't I look BEAUTIFUL as Gabe said it??

This afternoon we went outside for a bit while Tessa was napping. The kids seemed to enjoy it. It was a little windy at times and the snow would blow out of the trees and off the roof and that wasn't real pleasant for any of us but we played up close to the house and out of the wind for the most part so we weren't bothered too bad.

And of course the perfect finish to a snow day is HOT CHOCOLATE!!

Pics of the Older Two

This is going to be the best attempt I have at a catch up post...but it'll be quick.
Here is Kendra and Gabe at their school Christmas program. Kendra sang Jingle Bells and Ten Little Angels and Gabe sang Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer and Deck the Halls. They were both super cute and knew the words to their songs really good and actually sang proudly!

This is Kendra's favorite pose lately...so sweet ;)

The kids all liked Santa this year. I got a good picture of them all smiling but of course it was all fuzzy and I didn't have the heart to make them all do it again. That's what I get for rushing through the picture taking!

Kendra did really good opening gifts this year. They were both super excited with all their gifts and were pretty good at expressing their LOVE for everything! Gabe wore most of the clothes that were given to him the same day he received them. That boy and his clothes I tell ya!

Gabe was pretty excited about his Batman Bat Cave!

Kendra had chap stick in her stocking.

They were completely spoiled by Santa this year. He even brought them a wooden playhouse for outside. I think it is staying in the barn until spring though so we can use it out there during the cold months!

Santa brought Gabe a boat! It is fun to see him play and use his imagination to create different scenarios for his boater guys!

Kendra got her "pictures" (camera) that she'd been asking for!

Aunt Sally gave us stilts that we need a little help with.

We got playdough from Aunt Beth and Grandma/Grandpa Ochs. It is actually fun for kids and adults. One afternoon, Pam, Beth and I all sat down and played for an hour or more!

Aunt Pam and Uncle Dave gave us hooded towels that we think we're pretty cool when we use!!

I know I've missed alot. We have got this family of five thing down pretty good but I just don't seem to have much free time to sit down and play at the computer anymore.

Can't Believe It

Well, I can't believe it. The time has come for me to go back to work already. Tessa is 10 weeks old already. I do feel good on one hand that she is doing really good with her bottles and she's also doing much better lying down and taking decent naps without waking every little bit (a couple of weeks ago this was NOT the case!). But on the other hand, I'm sad to have to part with her since we've spent nearly every hour of our lives together for the past 10 weeks.

Here are a few recent pictures of her. Pray for me/us tomorrow and all week that our transition is smooth. Oh, and give me a call if you know any place that pays Mom's to stay home...you know...draw that paycheck but not actually do any work ;)
