Still No Baby News

Let's see here...what can I update the blog world on today? There hasn't been a whole lot going on around here lately. The kids had their pictures taken at preschool this week. Kendra opted not to smile so when I got them home that afternoon, we decided to try some at-home photos in case the school ones don't turn out. I'm no photographer but these don't look too bad. Kendra was still being onery and giving me the super fake smile but it is better than a frown!!

The leaves have started to fall rapidly this week. Heath cleaned the yard up several nights and by morning it was covered again. And cleaning up the yard means piles of leaves to jump in and run through...and baths are needed every night! The weather has been pretty nice for leave jumping up until yesterday/today when the rain started.

Kendra uses the slide to SLIDE. Gabe uses the slide to JUMP. If this looks like fun to any of Gabe's pre-school buddies, you should come over some afternoon to play. He keeps asking if his friends can come over and play in the leaves with him.

This next week we have Halloween parties at school, Gabe's first field trip to the pumpkin patch (which includes a school bus ride which he is super excited about...and continually reminds Kendra that she doesn't get to go because she's only TWO and you have to be THREE to ride a school bus), and hopefully the arrival of a new sister! Aunt Pam sent us some pretty cute big brother/big sister shirts that we can't wait to wear (seriously...Gabe couldn't wait to wear it...he's worn it all last night and now he put it on after school again today and we just got them in the mail yesterday)!!
Oh and I got my h1n1 vaccine today. How could I forget that news? I'm quite relieved to have that taken care of now! Earlier in the week I had tried to get the vaccine at the health department...me and about a million other people. Getting there 45 minutes early was not early enough so that was a waste...and quite frustrating since the line looked quite similar to a rock concert line. I hear there were people waiting in line at 8am already and the vaccine clinic wasn't set to start until 2pm. Thankfully my OB got a handful of doses in yesterday and called me right away to come and get mine today...no line, no fuss!!
Stay tuned for a baby announcement coming within the next 11 days no matter what!! Both Gabe & Kendra were born on the 3rd so I have decided if for some reason I haven't delivered by the 3rd, I'll go ahead and be induced on the 3rd. I really don't think I'll make it until then...but you just never know!

Panty-Hose

Heath took the day off work today. We had a doctor appointment with an ultrasound and everything so he just decided since it was a nasty rainy day anyhow, he'd take the day off. So this morning, I realized it was pretty quiet around our house but the kids hadn't went to preschool yet. I asked Heath what the kids were doing. Well...he thought they were with me and I thought they were with him...

So where were they??? Heath called them downstairs and this is what he saw (not the best pic because it came from his cell phone but you get the idea):

Good thing I rarely wear hose anymore or I might have been mad. But how can you scold two little heads with pantyhose on them?? Ahhh....what will they think of next???

Pumpkin Carving

We're still hanging in here at home, avoiding crowds and just doing things together around the house. Here are a couple of pictures of the kids getting into their Daddy's safety gear from his work truck.

This past weekend, we had visitors! Aunt Beth came to visit us for the weekend. She helped us carve pumpkins, she ran errands for me, and kept us entertained! We also had visits from Uncle Phil and Grandma and Grandpa Ochs. It was awesome to have them all around! It was hard not to make our typical trip to our favorite Chinese hot spot but we worked around it with a big carryout order. Surprisingly, it was really good and almost like a buffet since there were so many of us ordering!!
Here are a couple of the pumpkin pictures. Gabe of course had to make a "mad face" and Kendra made a "happy face". Neither of them were too much help scooping out the guts of the pumpkin but they seemed to enjoy the finished product and writing their names on the backs.

We go Thursday for an ultrasound to see how big Miss Wilke is by now. Less than 3 weeks to go!!! Thanks to Aunt Beth, we've got a hospital bag mostly packed (she's taken care of this each time I've been pregnant so I hated to break that tradition!)

The Latest

Another Friday means another doctor appointment and more stressing over the swine flu at my house. Since last Friday, two additional pregnant women have been added to the ICU at our hospital with swine flu and are hooked up to ventilators.

No, the vaccine is still not available.

And they've changed visiting rules at all of the local hospitals...you're only allowed two visitors and children are not allowed whatsoever. Now I DO realize this is for the good of everyone...the patients, the children, the new babies, etc. I just can't help but be a little sad that Gabe & Kendra won't get to meet their baby sister until she's at least 2 days old. And I won't get to see them for at least 2 days and 2 nights either :(

So, if anyone is healthy and wants to come visit us, they're more than welcome but I think we're going to be avoiding all crowded places for a while. Heath has offered to do all the errand running...groceries, shop for Kendra a Halloween costume, etc. Better safe than sorry I suppose! I am sure we'll still go a few places. I'm just going to avoid the grocery for sure since I know people go there sick or healthy...they have to have milk and food and prescriptions so I know they're still going to the grocery!

To all my family that is in Michigan this weekend...hope the wedding goes smooth and a good time is had by all!
