Monster Trucks

Friday night, we left Kendra with Heath's parents and took Gabe to see the monster trucks at Roberts Stadium. He had a pretty good time. We were prepared and had him ear protection and that helped. He was pretty excited to see the trucks. He'd been talking about it all week! My camera didn't want to cooperate inside the arena so the pictures didn't turn out so hot but as you can see, the place is pretty small. The start line and finish line aren't all that far apart!

This was us on the way out. We stopped for a souvenier. He was pretty excited to pick out his very own BLUE monster truck.

Saturday, we decided that it was time we start using our nice finished basement that we rarely use. I had some work to get caught up on so Heath took on the majority of the task. He rearranged the living area a little bit to make it homier, cleaned up what was already down there, and then we started hauling all the toys downstairs. It was really a two day project. Hopefully we'll use it more now and we won't worry so much about the toys being a mess all the time. Instead of picking the toys up every night, I'm thinking once a week will do. It was clean as of Sunday around 6pm. Here we are Monday at 8pm though and it looks like a tornado has struck. Oh well, they're having fun!!

Here is Kendra. She was helping Heath as he moved some of the deer around in the basement. Such a stinker!

Heath also took down our tree house on Sunday. A while back when we had that big wind storm, in addition to the two trees that actually hit the ground, we had a third tree fall but get hung up in the "Y" at the top of another tree. I think we're having someone come out and get that tree down this week and in order to get it down, they're going to have to remove the tree house tree as well :( We've also got a dead tree up closer to the house and they're going to remove it as well...and it may take out two MORE trees. How sad! I guess we're going to have to start planting some more this spring. The only positive side is that we may actually have some more grass that will grow this year. The biggest thing that drew me to this house though was the yard and I hate to see the trees falling!!

  2. Me again...thanks for the offer. I'll have to keep that in mind. Larry's funny about staying at other people's houses. He could just sleep in the car!
